Calling All Job Seekers

24 Mar

I’m not a recruiter, but I may have the key to finding your next job. As a highly skilled web developer, I’m in great demand, but I am unable to accept every project that comes my way, and I sympathize with job seekers who are less successful with their own job campaigns. If you are looking for a web development job in the Chicago area, email me your resume to advocate324 at this domain, and I will personally read it, give you some feedback, and if you happen to be a good fit for a job I know about, a referral. I don’t know how many responses I may receive, so I may not reply immediately.

Ten Things a Recruiter Will Never Tell You

Although this site bears my name, I did not create it by myself. It is a collaborative project collectively built by the WordPress team, plugin authors, and visual designers. In the same vein, I’m promoting not just myself but also the community of Chicago area web developers. I invite members of the community to contribute their own work to be featured on the site.

I’d also like to create a collaborative job matching system that uses human judgement to select top candidates.

  • The users consist of job seekers, employers, and recruiters
  • Job seekers may introduce job leads into the system for sharing with others
  • Job seekers applying for the same job evaluate each others’ profiles
  • Negative evaluations must include constructive comments
  • The top community-evaluated profiles will be submitted to the employer or recruiter
  • Employers and recruiters must submit comments on each profile viewed
  • Job seekers always receive feedback from applications
  • Recruiters must not duplicate client requests
  • Job seekers must not bypass recruiters for job leads
